through the mystical
grounds, Mrs. Furst

was a grandmother.

“Karen was holding on to

The talk of tombs, of
falling saints, of the
dead, had scared her
granddaughter.

“Am I going to die?”
Karen asked....

“She was so afraid that
she was going to die.
She was obsessed with
the thought of dying,”
says Mrs. Furst. “I
promised her that she
would not die young.”
